Is this for me?

Strength & control, on rails.

You don’t need to be fit, flexible or sporty to begin. You need a class built for where your body is now, an instructor who genuinely guides you, and a pace that’s yours. Strength, balance and mobility respond at any age.

  • New to movement, or starting over after a break
  • Rebuilding after a baby, an injury or surgery, once you’re cleared
  • Wanting strength without heavy impact
  • After more control, posture and core than a mat can give
  • Any age, any level, truly

Our class styles

Five ways onto the Reformer.

Start here · Beginner

Foundation

The essentials: breath, alignment and control, taught slowly and fully guided. You’ll learn the reformer itself (carriage, springs, straps) and leave knowing exactly what you’re doing. Good if you are brand new, returning after a break, or want to rebuild the basics properly.

55+ · Beginner

Enhance

Everything Foundation teaches, at a slower tempo with more time on setup and form, a great level for 55+. Strength, balance and mobility, built carefully so confidence grows with capability. Good if you are 55+, easing back into movement, or simply prefer a gentler, more supported class.

Recovery · Open level

Stretch

A reformer class for opening tight hips, backs and shoulders, releasing tension and aiding recovery. The day that keeps your stronger days strong. Good if you feel tight, train hard on other days, or want a restorative, lower-intensity session. Five Foundation classes first.

Challenge · Intermediate

Progression

Heavier springs, longer holds and more challenge: faster-paced, with less hand-holding. Real strength and control, once Foundation feels easy. Some Progression classes swap the foot bar for the jump board, for cardio on the reformer, and jumping is always optional. Good if you have a solid Foundation and want to push harder.

Strength · Intermediate

Strong

Strength and conditioning on the reformer: heavier springs, slower tempo and real load, for building power and resilience. Good if you want a dedicated strength class. Five Foundation classes in the last six weeks first.

Is it safe for me?

Looks like a contraption. Inside, it's calm.

A reformer is a low, padded bed that glides on rails, with adjustable springs and handles. The springs carry and steady you, which is exactly what makes it gentle. Here’s how a class goes.

    Set up around you

Your instructor helps you set up, adjusting the springs and bed to you before you begin. Nothing to figure out alone.

  • /0

    The springs carry the load

Resistance comes from gentle springs, not weights. They steady you while you work, which is what makes it low-impact.

  • /0

    Guided, the whole way

Clear cues, no jargon, and every movement scaled to what feels good on the day.

  • /0

    Worked, not wrecked

You finish stretched and steady, and most people are surprised how quickly it starts to feel like their machine.

More ways to Return.

There is no single right way to begin. It depends where your body is now: a first class, returning, an injury, a life stage, or a goal. Choose the one that sounds most like you.

Frequently asked questions

Have more questions? Contact us

  • Do I need to be fit or flexible to start?

No, and almost everyone asks this. Foundation is built for exactly that: the springs carry you while you learn, and every movement is taught from the beginning. You will not be the only one starting out.

  • Which class should I book first?

Foundation. It teaches you the reformer itself, the carriage, the springs and the straps, so nothing is a surprise. If you are 55 or over, or would simply like a gentler pace, Enhance covers the same ground more slowly.

  • How many people are in a class?

Up to fifteen, each on their own reformer. Your instructor helps you set up before you start, guides you through every exercise, and helps you adjust your springs as the class goes.

  • How much does reformer Pilates cost?

New here? Start with the 2 Week Teaser: four classes for $89. Or go all in with the 4 Week Reform for $260: a 45-minute private session, worth $110 on its own, then eight classes, grip socks, a home program and kit, and weekly check-ins. After that, a single class is $40, and memberships bring it right down: Flex from $22 a class, or Unlimited for $89 a week.

  • What if I have an injury?

Tell your instructor before class. Every instructor here is physio-trained, so modifications for minor injuries and niggles are part of how we teach. If something needs a closer look first, Clinical Pilates at Malvern Physiotherapy Clinic is a few doors up.
