Every move scaled to you
Is this your path?
Cleared to move, but not sure what's safe?
That caution is wise — and it’s exactly why this path exists. The reformer is low-impact and endlessly adjustable, every session is watched by a physio-trained instructor, and anything clinical starts next door with the physios. So you rebuild strength without gambling with your recovery.
- Recovering from an injury or surgery, and ready to rebuild
- Cleared to move, but nervous about doing the wrong thing
- Wary of a busy gym, and after something watched and gentle
- Missing movement, and wanting your body to feel trustworthy again
Why it works
The safest way back is guided.
Rest gets you only so far. For most injuries, the way back is graded, well-cued movement — the reformer’s whole design.
Why guided movement beats rest
45%
lower risk of back-pain episodes, with exercise + education
What guided rebuilding gives back
Four ways the reformer keeps you safe while you build.
Support
Springs, not weights
Resistance that steadies you as you work — you’re supported, not strained.
Joints
Kind to the joint
No jarring, no pounding — gentle on backs, knees, hips and shoulders.
Guidance
Eyes on every rep
Clear cues from physio-trained instructors, scaled to what feels right today.
Progress
Progress you can trust
A little more each week, only when you’re ready — momentum without risk.
Is it safe for me?
We start where your physio leaves off.
Your path
Your first 28 days, graded for you.
No hero workouts, no setbacks — a careful month that starts with a 1:1, rebuilds the basics, then adds only what your body has earned.
Day 1
A careful first 1:1
We learn exactly what happened, what your physio's said, and where you are now — then map a month that respects it. 45 minutes, included.
Weeks 1–2
Rebuild the basics
Foundation classes — control, breathing and the movements that make everything else safe. Nothing rushed.
Weeks 3–4
Add, carefully
A little more load and range as your body allows — always scaled, always watched.
Day 28
Where you land
A check-in on how it feels, and the rhythm that keeps you building — no pressure, ever.
The week you’re building toward
A sample, not a prescription — we map your own week at your first 1:1, and dial it to how you’re healing.

Is it safe for me?
The reformer looks like a contraption. Inside, it's calm.
A reformer is a low, padded bed that glides on rails, with adjustable springs and handles. The springs carry and steady you — which is exactly what makes it gentle. Here’s how a class goes.

Set up around you
Your instructor has your assessment notes and adjusts the springs and
bed to you before you begin. Nothing to figure out alone./0
The springs carry the load
Resistance comes from gentle springs, not weights — they steady you
while you work, which is what makes it low-impact./0
Watched, the whole way
Clear cues, no jargon, and every movement scaled to what feels good
on the day./0
Worked, not wrecked
You finish stretched and steady — and most people are surprised how
quickly it starts to feel like their machine.

Frequently asked questions
Have more questions? Contact us
Is it safe to do reformer with my injury?
Usually yes, and often exactly what helps — the reformer is low-impact and every exercise is adjustable. If it’s still clinical, we start you with the physiotherapists at Malvern Physiotherapy Clinic, then guide you into class once you’re ready.
Do I need to be cleared by my physio or surgeon first?
For a recent injury or surgery, yes — we’ll begin at Malvern Physiotherapy Clinic for an assessment, and their physios and our instructors share notes so your care carries across. If you’re already cleared, just tell us what happened and we scale everything to you.
What if my injury flares up in a class?
Your instructor scales or swaps any movement on the spot, and if something needs a clinical eye we send you back to the clinic — and pick you up again when you’re ready.
Is Clinical Pilates claimable on my health fund?
Return’s classes are exercise and aren’t claimable. Clinical Pilates and physio at Malvern Physiotherapy Clinic are delivered by physiotherapists and may be claimable — ask the clinic and check your cover.
What makes your instructors physio-trained?
Every Return instructor is trained by the physiotherapists at our sister clinic, Malvern Physiotherapy Clinic — in reading bodies, cueing precisely, and adapting exercises around injuries, conditions and stages. Not all our instructors are physiotherapists, though several are. Either way, the physio thinking is in every class.
Can I book over the phone?
Of course. Call 0448 832 773 or text 0438 401 005 and a real person will talk it through and book you in.
