Teens & families
Strong habits, started early.
Between screens, study and specialised sport, young bodies miss out on the strength, posture and mobility they'll carry for life. Low-impact, supervised reformer with physio-trained instructors helps build all three — for your teenager, or for the whole family, moving together.

Is this your path?
For your teen — or the whole family?
Maybe it’s a teenager hunched over screens and homework, or a young athlete you want to keep robust as they specialise. Maybe it’s the whole household wanting one healthy thing you do together. Reformer works for all of it — each person at their own level, supervised, in the same welcoming room.
- A teen who could use better posture, strength or confidence
- A young athlete you want to keep strong and injury-resistant
- A family after one healthy habit you can share
- Wanting movement that’s supervised, low-impact and safe
Why it works
Good habits, built young.
Screens, study and single-sport specialisation leave real gaps in how young bodies move. Guided strength and mobility fill them — and habits set early tend to last.
Teen activity levels
81%
of 11–17-year-olds aren't active enough
What good habits give back
Four wins for growing bodies, week after week.
Posture
Undo the screen slump
Core and back work that counters hours hunched over phones and desks.
Strength
Robust young bodies
Controlled strength that supports growing joints and busy sport schedules.
Control
Body awareness
Coordination and control that carry into sport, posture and self-belief.
Family
A shared habit
Something active you do as a family — good for bodies and for the bond.
Your path
A guided first month, at their pace.

Out there
“The habits you build at fifteen tend to stick. Teach a young body to move well and stay strong now, and you give them something that lasts a lifetime.”
Is it safe for me?
The reformer looks like a contraption. Inside, it's calm.
A reformer is a low, padded bed that glides on rails, with adjustable springs and handles. The springs carry and steady you — which is exactly what makes it gentle. Here’s how a class goes.

/0
Set up around you
Your instructor has your assessment notes and adjusts the springs and
bed to you before you begin. Nothing to figure out alone./0
The springs carry the load
Resistance comes from gentle springs, not weights — they steady you
while you work, which is what makes it low-impact./0
Watched, the whole way
Clear cues, no jargon, and every movement scaled to what feels good
on the day./0
Worked, not wrecked
You finish stretched and steady — and most people are surprised how
quickly it starts to feel like their machine.

Frequently asked questions
Have more questions? Contact us
What age can my teenager start?
Group classes are for ages 16 and over. Younger teens can take part where we agree in advance — a parent or guardian accepts the waiver on their behalf, and they start with a 45-minute private session so movement is matched to their stage of growth.
Is reformer safe for a growing body?
Done well, yes — it’s low-impact, controlled and fully supervised, which makes it a kind way to build strength and posture while a body is still developing. Our physio-trained instructors scale everything to the individual.
Can we come as a family?
Many families do — each person follows their own path at their own level, in the same welcoming studio. Our Flex membership pools classes across the people you live with, and dependents aged 13–22 at the same address can be nominated on it.
My teen plays sport — will this help or clash?
It complements sport rather than clashing with it. Core control, single-side strength and mobility support young athletes and help protect against the imbalances that early specialisation can create.
What makes your instructors physio-trained?
Every Return instructor is trained by the physiotherapists at our sister clinic, Malvern Physiotherapy Clinic — in reading bodies, cueing precisely, and adapting exercises around injuries, conditions and stages. Not all our instructors are physiotherapists, though several are. Either way, the physio thinking is in every class.
Can I book over the phone?
Please do — for teens and families it’s the best first step. Call 0448 832 773 or text 0438 401 005 and a real person will advise and set you up.
